Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Charlotte, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,161 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: 2 years of Pediatric experience with strong Oncology/Hematology experience; Bone Marrow Transplant experience is highly preferred License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, PALS, APHON provider card Must-Have: Port access experience is a must Chemo administration experience Blood product transfusion experience Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills Comfort with blood cultures and central line care Experience with PCA pumps and Heparin infusions Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Oncology/Hematology. The unit has a total of 24 beds, with 16 dedicated to Hematology/Oncology patients and 8 for Bone Marrow Transplant patients. The average daily census is 22. Nurses provide care during critical treatment phases, specifically around Day 0, Day 1, and the initial days post-procedure. The unit is capable of accommodating patients from neonates to adults who have received treatment as children. It handles diagnoses including solid tumor cancers, leukemia, sickle cell disease, and aplastic anemia. The staff is encouraged to treat patients on both the Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant services. Patient care on this unit requires a keen understanding of acute conditions, particularly in the context of bone marrow transplants. While primarily focused on Hematology and Oncology, the unit also sees pediatric behavioral health patients. Patient ratios are based on acuity, typically 1:3 for Hematology/Oncology and 1:1-2 for Bone Marrow Transplant. Support within the department includes charge nurses, unit educators, task nurses, and psych techs available for behavioral support. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC, and equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Nurses may float to general pediatric medical units based on skill set and unit needs. Weekend rotation is every other week, with no call required. Additional duties may include administrative tasks such as admissions and discharges. The successful candidate must exhibit a collaborative spirit and a proactive approach to patient care.
