Job Description:

Confidential Company is seeking a self-starter and experienced Controller or Plant Controller that values working in a highly supportive and dynamic work environment. If you are goal driven, detail-oriented, accountable and resourceful, this position is for you. This position will be responsible for leading all day-to-day finance and accounting aspects for a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility producing a Class I medical device and personal protection equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will possess a positive can-do attitude, extensive financial controls capabilities and manufacturing experience with a desire to build and lead high performing teams. This position is a key contributor to the critical mission of onshoring domestic manufacturing and an important voice to the senior management team.
Job Duties

  • Solidify accounting policies and procedures by establishing a strong internal controls environment.
  • Responsible for P&L and Balance Sheet creation and integrity, to include all necessary schedules and analysis.
  • Performs period end reviews to ensure accurate and complete financial statements to review with senior management.
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements and makes recommendations to improve business operations.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of the companys annual operating budget.
  • Responsible for all accounting activities, including external bank reporting, annual review coordination and tax support with the CPA firm and any required government contracts compliance.
  • Builds and manages a high-performing accounting team and operate as a business partner for senior management by identifying financial and operational risks and opportunities in advance and communicate them effectively.
  • Reconciles subsidiary ledgers and computer-generated reports to the appropriate General Ledger accounts
  • Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Reviews payroll ensuring timely processing by the payroll company.
  • Coordinates with AP/AR/Billing/Collections to ensure all financial and accounting transactions are processed to established standards and cash flow is maximized.
  • Assists with new ERP and other business software implementations.
  • Builds relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration with all company departments.
  • Manages, mentors, and develops team members.
  • Participates in or leads ad hoc projects, as needed.
  • Travel is minimal if any, when and as required.

    Candidate Profile, Skills and Experience
    • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • 7+ years in an accounting or controller role with proven hands-on value-added contributions.
    • Must possess sound understanding of accounting standards, CPA not required.
    • Manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting and inventory management.
    • Experienced in government contracting or a desire to learn.
    • Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, tax, banking, cash management, cost control principles, and GAAP.
    • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish them within defined deadlines.
    • Possess a collaborative work style, while being equally able to operate independently.
    • A positive, can-do attitude with the desire to learn and improve.
    • Demonstrated business acumen, including long range planning and budget management.
    • Results oriented with the ability to demonstrate resiliency, take ownership, and drive results.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with other team members at all levels.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
    • Passionate about perfection, exceptional emotional intelligence, and situational awareness.
    • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
    • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
    • Ability to be a self-starter, prioritize and manage multiple assignments at any given time while meeting deadlines.
    • Experience working in a fast-growing business environment preferred.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and other ancillary technology platforms.
