Job Description Job Description Position Summary EnergyUnited is seeking a Substation Specialist to support the construction, maintenance, and operation of distribution and transmission substations. This role performs hands-on work on electrical equipment critical to delivering safe, reliable power to our members. The ideal candidate has utility or electrical experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Construct, maintain, and repair distribution and transmission substations and related electrical equipment Perform energized and de-energized work in accordance with established safety procedures Install, maintain, and repair transformers, reclosers, and associated substation equipment Assist with and perform switching activities and basic substation operations Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment used in substation work Complete required records, reports, and documentation Participate in on-call rotations, emergency response, and outage restoration Work outdoors in all weather conditions and during adverse events Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience in an electric utility or related electrical field Working knowledge of substation operations and electrical safety practices Ability to work from elevated positions, ladders, and structures Valid Class A CDL with a good driving record, with tanker endorsement within one year Must live within a 25-mile radius to the assigned location Preferred Qualifications Prior substation construction or maintenance experience Knowledge of electrical theory, transformers, and switching procedures Experience performing energized work at distribution voltages Why EnergyUnited At EnergyUnited, we live our values every day: Be safe, be secure, be present, and be member focused.
