Designs primarily consist of power conversion(AC to DC/DC to AC), means for battery charging,-- and means of illumination.Posting Address701 Millennium Blvd.Greenville, SC 29607*ACPosition OverviewPossesses in-depth knowledge of hardware and embedded firmware based Life Safety or related lighting product design and development, debugging and testing (at board and system level). The engineer will focus on designing, developing, testing, validating, troubleshooting lighting products involving microcontrollers and switch mode power conversion circuitry. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a team environment, with good organizational and communication skills. Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign--switch mode AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuit topologies such as push-pull self oscillating, fly-back, forward, boost, buck and buck-boost convertersHardware and software design--involving embedded systems using microcontrollersDesign and evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability--Participate on--New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products per established parameters, including performance, budget and schedulePossess or gain experience with the design requirements of UL924 Emergency Lighting Section.Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation (at board and system level)Participate on--New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products per established parameters, including performance, budget and scheduleSkills and ExperienceMust have at least 5 years industry experience working on firmware/electronics based product development, testing and validationMust have knowledge and design experience with switch mode AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuit topologies such as fly-back, forward, boost, buck and buck-boost convertersMust clearly demonstrate a proven track record creating embedded software for-- 8 - 32 bit microcontrollersMust have a proven track record working with test equipment and integrated development environments for embedded software developmentMust demonstrate consistent application of problem solving and analytical skillsMust possess good written and--oral communication skillsMust possess strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing and validation processesMust be computer literate.
