-Trailer Liaison Engineer in Greenville, SC. This position has been
designated as -On-Site and -is part of the Trailer product design
engineering group, creating a critical linkage between design
engineering and manufacturing operations, coordinating hand-off of
information for all interfaces. - -The Trailer Liaison Engineer is
responsible for coordinating Engineering changes, implementing
exiting product improvements, and launching new products connected
to NPD, quality, reliability, value engineering and sustaining
engineering. -The position is also responsible for communicating to
ensure design intent is being met in manufacturing operations and
creating alignment on necessary changes. - A high sense of urgency
and strong customer focus is required while ensuring engineering
rigor and process adherence. - This position identifies, seeks to
understand, manages, and creates alignment on project risks or
roadblocks to project Quality/Cost/Deliver goals. - This person
will be a continuous champion for communication and awareness to
increase alignment and engagement.Responsibilities
- Support new Greenville, SC manufacturing plant development and
layout activities:
- Includes traveling to current manufacturing facility in
Arecibo, PR to learn manufacturing production lines and processes
as well as product architecture details
- Support setup of PLM & MRP systems related to Engineering BOM
structure - -
- Communicate Engineering requirements to new manufacturing plant
project team
- Ensure all new products and engineering changes are implemented
in accordance to TK engineering drawing and BOM requirements
appropriate for the change/process intent
- Provide feedback to Engineering on strategic product Design for
Manufacturing (DFM) improvements
- Work with manufacturing materials to prioritize BOM error
correction list, communicate necessary design/drawing/BOM changes
to Engineering
- Support troubleshooting / diagnostic investigation of issues
found within manufacturing test processes, end of line hot test,
root causes for units in hospital stations. - Provide feedback to
Engineering on systematic quality metrics from these
processes.
- Lead regular communication with Engineering to track project
implementation into production, record first unit serial number
implementation
- Review and disposition supplier deviation requests (SDRs),
attach documentation of related Engineering assessment and
manufacturing assessment
- Lead Engineering Assessment fit-up builds in the factory,
create report to share with stakeholders
- Participate in design reviews and DFMEA reviews providing
manufacturing input, support handoff from Engineering to
manufacturing to create PFMEA, control plan, work instructions,
etc.---
- Participate in Manufacturing Assessment builds for design
change or new product design validation
- Participate in Manufacturing Validation builds for Production
Part Approval Process (PPAP) completion, work with Quality and
Engineering to resolve any PPAP discrepancies
- Participate in manufacturing Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) and
Value Stream (VSA) events
- 20+% travel to Minneapolis, MN Engineering office and Arecibo,
PR manufacturing site during first 12mo; expect 5-10% travel
ongoing basis after first 12moQualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years
experience in design or manufacturing engineering is required.Key
Competencies
- Experience with manufacturing principles including Design for
Manufacturing and Quality Management processes
- Engineering experience with refrigeration systems or industrial
products preferred
- Pro/Engineer or Creo proficiency preferred and Windchill PLM or
Aras PLM is preferred
- Experience with Engineering problem solving, root cause
analysis, and tradeoff analysis
- Ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and
organize information to make informed engineering decisions
- Self-motivated with strong collaboration skills. Demonstrated
ability to build relationships and work with cross-functional teams
spread across multiple geographical regions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and support multiple
project
- Intermediate Spanish language proficiency preferredBase
Compensation Range is $54,000 to $113,000Disclaimer: This base
salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay
could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where
