Overall Scope

Automotive product design engineer for gasoline fuel injectors. Existing product lines include top feed gasoline port fuel injectors, throttle body injectors, and GDI injectors. A successful candidate will have some familiarity with the general operating principles of solenoids, fluid flow behavior, analysis of data to determine operating characteristics, and CAD design/FEA experience.



Minimum
Requirements



---Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering



---3 years' minimum experience in a mechanical design field



---Experience with CAD system such as Creo or SolidWorks



---Proficient with MS Office



---Good organizational skills



---Attention to details



Responsibilities and Duties



---Product design and development of gasoline fuel injectors





---Reverse engineering of existing OE injectors to determine product specifications





---CAD model and drawing creation





--- Perform development and project cost analysis





---Coordinate pilot builds for new product launches





--- Resolve technical issues with respect to product performance





---Participate in the APQP process to lead new product design projects up through hand-off to manufacturing





---Consult with Sales and Customers to determine product requirements





---Develop specialized design validation testing as needed





--- Design data acquisition methods to determine product testing requirements





---Document investigations with engineering reports
