Solving complex challenges and delivering innovative solutions to help customers keep people safe and provide them essential services, our client is hiring for the following critical need: Sheet Metal Mechanic (SMM)(U.S. Citizenship Required*)Greenville, SC2018-7430 Responsibilities: Modify P-3 and or C-130 aircraft and major subassemblies. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes. Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown or engineering documentation and technical orders. Perform difficult structural pick-up and rework such as removing, replacing or realigning ribs, longerons, bulkheads, stringers, or fittings in completed skinned assemblies Perform tasks utilizing tools to include but not limited to drills, angle motors, shears, brake, drill press, and pneumatic riveter Perform such final assembly operations as pick-up and rework on structures and installation, installing shortages, and bringing up all items to latest engineering changes Complete installation of and fit such items as clamps, brackets, angles, longerons, supports, bulkheads, battery boxes, and component parts such as avionics equipment Perform trimming, milling operations, reforming and altering parts and structures as required. Fabricate detail parts such as shims, splices, gussets, angles, brackets, doublers, stiffeners, and patches Use shop aids to facilitate assembly and installation as required. 1st and 2nd shift position (6:30am – 4pm and 3:30pm – 1am)Qualification: 3 Years of P-3 and/or C-130 Aircraft Structural Modification Experience Required – complete a skills assessment on day 2 after day 1 Orientation, lasting about 9 hours. Required – bring personal tools and shadowed toolbox required by the company. Personal tool inventory list must be completed prior to arrival Required – pass a tool inspection on first day FAA Airframe or Powereplant License preferred. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to work with precision measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and standard scales. Can handle repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. Can stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft. Can occasionally sit, climb, and balance. Can frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds. Has the following vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Can wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. Can handle regular exposure to vibration, as well as frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Can properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures. Can handle occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Can work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.
