Job Description:

The Community Engagement Manager provides an excellent community awareness program (in accordance with the Benevon Model) for selected members of the community: guests will be informed of FAVOR services, will themselves inform and refer others to FAVOR, and will become involved with FAVOR as volunteers and donors. The Community Engagement Manager will achieve all metrics for the Hope and Healing Tour program and for the Gifts of Recovery Luncheon each year. This unique word-of-mouth marketing effort will result in significant sustaining gifts for FAVOR's programs and services.Plan and execute the annual Benevon Pipeline Program to include the following:

  • Develop and maintain a sizzling Hope and Healing Tour program and recruit and prepare the presenters.
  • Maintain depth on the bench for each of the three bucket areas.
  • Develop the annual calendar of Hope and Healing Tour events and secure agreement on availability for all parties involved.
  • Keep all parties informed of any changes and manage the schedule of who is speaking when.
  • Assure that the contact information for each guest is entered correctly in the fund development database and a task is set up for the follow up call.
  • Contact each guest who attends a Hope and Healing Tour and record their feedback and willingness to be an Ambassador in the fund development database by completing the task.
  • Secure an Ambassador for each date on the schedule and assure that the Ambassadors have the training and information they need to be successful.
  • Develop and send out each month the Ambassador Scoreboard newsletter to current Ambassadors and Ambassador Candidates to maintain the connection.
  • From the group of successful Ambassadors, recruit sufficient Table Captains for the annual Gifts of Recovery Luncheon in November.
  • Make all arrangements for the Gifts of Recovery Luncheon, including the production of the video, program presenters, location, and all print material; assure the success of the event.
  • Plan and oversee the calling team who will contact each guest immediately after the Gifts of Recovery Luncheon to thank them for attending, get their feedback, and invite them to the Celebration Event if they have joined the FAVOR FOREVER CIRCLE.
  • Plan and Chair the Community Engagement Team meeting each month and utilize the strengths and skills of the volunteers and staff involved to produce the Hope and Healing Tours, the Gifts of Recovery Luncheon, and the Second Date opportunities for guests.
  • Prepare the Benevon Pre-Coaching Call Form and submit prior to each Benevon call with our Coach.
  • Function as part of the Development Team to support the work of other Team members; coordinate approaches with donors and prospects.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Development Director. Knowledge, skills and abilities, needed:
    • In Family or Individual Recovery from substance use disorder
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Computer literacy including an extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs
    • Demonstrated expertise in working with relational databases
    • Minimum data input capability of 45 wpm
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work for multiple people/committees at one time
    • High level of professionalism
    • Strong ability to relate to people at all business and social levels
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Friendly and outgoing personality
    • Enthusiasm and dedication to teamwork
    • Good comprehension skills Education, Experience, and/or Training Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three years of business experience preferred. Experience in a fundraising setting is preferred. Must be available to be trained in database management and the Benevon Model of Sustainable Fundraising.
