A key component of that strategy will be helping to develop and implement a sourcing process to drive down operating expenses in a structured manner. The Senior Manager will be highly visible within the company and will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the organization in multiple ways. The role will report to the -Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis -and operate from our Greenville, SC office.How will you drive value within the organization?Manage a team of analysts responsible for building and maintaining the operating expense forecast for the company, including leading the annual budget setting process for operating expenses; monitor variances against forecast or budget, and partner with the department leaders to proactively address variancesPartner with department leaders to build detailed business cases for new or renewed investment; monitor ongoing performance of the projects and report the results to senior managementPartner with department leaders to evaluate vendor options for large vendor renewals or new initiatives with significant vendor spend; ensure sound financial and business decision making, which may involve leading a structured RFP or bidding process and reporting results to senior managementPartner with the Legal team to maintain a database of vendor contract renewals and key terms, communicate key renewal issues to the department leaders and build an annual plan for addressing large renewals in accordance with company policiesIdentify and lead cost improvement initiatives or other projects that directly impact company profitabilityAssist with ad hoc financial analysesParticipate in special projects as neededPerform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by managementWhat should you already know to be successful in this role? -Minimum of bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering, or a related field required. Internal candidates at the Specialist (S2) level with commensurate experience and a track record of sustained, top performance against company standards may be consideredMinimum of three (3) years' experience in a finance or a similar role requiredPrior management experience preferredPractical experience with leading the selection of vendors through either a bidding or RFP process preferredStrong analytical, problem solving, data gathering, and analysis skills requiredStrong Excel skills required; basic knowledge of PowerPoint requiredHigh degree of critical thinking skills; ability to effectively evaluate options, understand gaps or flaws in analysis and resolve gaps to completionExcellent interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, and build cross-functional partnerships across the businessProcess oriented, but with ability to recognize when flexibility within a process may be warrantedPractical understanding of how and when to utilize an analysis to spur business changes and decisionsPossess a high level of intellectual curiosity with a natural inclination to understand at a high-level the drivers of financial results and the overall financial picture of the organizationStrong drive, ambition, and self-motivationExcellent organizational skills with high attention to detailTeam player that can adapt in a fast paced and changing environmentCommitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competenciesEmployment Requirements:Must be able to pass a criminal background checkThis position is full-timeThis is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at timesThe position does not require travelThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
