Job Summary

Responsible for supervising the day to day research operations, programs, and staff of the oncology clinical research program under the general supervision of a physician or senior management member. Ensures site research quality by practicing in compliance with departmental research Standard Operating Procedures, (SOPs), as well as the National Cancer Institute directives, the IRB of record SOPs, principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.


Supervises the clinical research staff to facilitate - performance in accordance with applicable SOPs and federal, state and -local -regulations. . Responsible for ensuring -at the administrative level that all research activities are coordinated with affected departments within the practice. - 30%

-Collaborates with the protocol review and oversight committee in the process of study selection for the research program. Provides support to the department manager to assist in developing and implementing research budgets that include accrual targets and financial objectives for each research location, in collaboration with practice management. May promote or market research program to the practice, community and referring physicians. Coordinate research activities from initiation to study close out with research bases or sponsors. - 20%

Provides assistance to the department manager to develop research accountability standards, metrics, and reports and identifies areas for improvement. Collaborates with site research leader (SRL) and research staff in the implementation of action plans designed to improve practice research operations and quality assurance functions. - 5%

Leads meetings and facilitates groups to achieve desired results. Utilizes facilitation tools to ensure participation, innovation and decision-making among group; effectively uses group process techniques. - 10%

Implements short term goals that align with the company's vision and business goals. Cascades goals down to staffs annual objectives. - 5%

-Provides on-going job related education and training to staff. May develop training materials. Coaches and develops staff. Assist to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) continually improving efficiencies. - 20%

Participates in decisions related to recruitment, interviewing, recommending hires, assessing performance, recommending salary changes, and progressive discipline. Enforces adherence to Prisma Health and departmental policies. - 10%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing

3 years - Nursing experience, Preferably in oncology

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses


Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

CCRP by SoCRA or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) certification - Preferred

Supervisory experience - Preferred

Completion of BLS is required during nursing orientation unless appropriate documentation of prior BLS completion has been provided. BLS is required every two years thereafter
