Security Operations Center (CSOC) Manager's primary responsibility
is to oversee the daily operations and management of CSOC
resources. Responsibilities include: developing, testing, and
implementation of, monitoring, detection, investigation, and
incident response procedures. Documenting processes and procedures,
automating playbooks, and appropriately allocating CSOC resources
to address identified risks and priorities established by the
University's Information Security Program. Performs other duties as
assigned.JOB DUTIES: 40% - Essential - Leading and
Planning:Responsible for leading and directing daily CSOC
operations and personnel activities. Ensuring events and/or
incidents are detected and responded to in accordance with
established processes and timelines. Work with CSOC staff to
continually improve the operation and effectiveness of the CSOC.
Provide leadership guidance and mentoring to CSOC staff. Maintain a
positive work environment that fosters a sense of belonging that
inspires innovation and collaboration.30% - Essential -
Management:The CSOC manager oversees the activity of the CSOC team,
including hiring, training, mentoring, and assessing staff.
Coordinate the CSOC team scheduling, including shift rosters,
annual leave etc.Management of project deadlines, resource
allocation, task completion, and goal objectives.Interface and
collaborate with other University groups and leaders. Establish
reportable data collection, analysis, monitoring and resolution
metrics for CSOC activities. Identify and action CSOC analyst
training requirements.30% - Essential - Operations:Serve as an
incident manager for the CSOC and lead staff to proactively
identify, respond, prevent and mitigate security incidents. Ensure
all CSOC processes and procedures are documented and
published.Manage and improve information security documentation as
required. Works to design, implement, and improve security controls
and detections. Oversees and reviews daily SOC analysts
tasks.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in information
technology systems, computer science, or related field and
experience in information technology systems or related area.
Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a
year-for-year basis.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in
two or more of the following: Security monitoring and intrusion
detection; Network protocols and secure network design; operating
system internals and hardening methods (e.g. Windows, Linux, OS)Web
application and browser security; security assessments and
penetration testing; authentication and access control; applied
cryptography and security protocols; incident response and
forensics; development of security tools, automation or frameworks.
CISSP, GIAC (GPEN, GCIH, GXPN, GSEC, GWAPT, GCFA, GREM), or OSCP

25%- Employee will be expected to respond to situations during
non-normal university operating hours. Participation with on-call
rotational duties within the group will be expected. There will be
some expected travel with this position. WORK SCHEDULE: Standard
Hours: 37.5COMPENSATION INFORMATION Expected Salary Range ($
81,388.00 - $ 101,120.00) Salary is dependent upon several factors
including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience,
knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's .
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal OperationsRequired to follow
emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected
