This leader owns the negotiation of timely and favorable outcomes with insurance companies and other partners on matters of payments, appeals, etc. The VP of RCM also leverages data insight, a bias for action, and strong management skills to measure and improve internal performance and efficiency. Impact in this role directly enables Serenity to continue to expand and help an ever-increasing number of patients on their healing journeys.Job Type: Full-time (On-site)Location: Charlotte, NCPrimary Responsibilities

• Track, optimize and report on key RCM performance indicators
  • Oversee resolution of patient concerns regarding claims processing and billing issues
    • Improve policies and procedures to minimize days in A/R
      • Coordinate effectively with multiple business functions
        • Ensure integrity and compliance in all collection-related processes
          • Promote a positive and solution-oriented team culture
            • Develop team members' functional expertise and professional skills
              Qualities We're Looking For
              • Sincere desire to help patients take back their lives from health struggles
                • Demonstrated commitment to metric-based management, with the ability to leverage data and KPIs to improve performance and efficiency
                  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating escalated claims appeals
                    • Sense of urgency and drive to achieve results
                      • 10+ years experience in senior leadership roles in professional billing (not solely 3rd party or facility based), including experience with a large or multi-state company - outpatient mental health preferred
                        • Experience in employee selection, training and onboarding, and engagement
                          • Ability to coach team to achieve key performance indicators
                            • Ability to assist senior leadership in identifying and addressing obstacles to financial performance (e.g. Charge Capture, Payment Posting, Denial Management, Patient Collections, Overfunded Accounts, Coding Trends, Payor issues)
                              • Experience with all areas of billing noted above
                                • Certified Coder, Biller, or Credentialer
                                  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking, time management, detail orientation, and professional communication
