They capture the essence of what our company stands for: safety, diversity, integrity and success.Job Summary Manages one large or complex Engineering project, or several smaller projects simultaneously. Has overall administrative responsibility for execution of the project or portfolio of projects. Is responsible for safety, quality, client interface, budgets, schedules and controls on assigned projects Directs and coordinates engineering, procurement, construction management and project controls activities Directs technical and administrative effort required to accomplish project requirements in accordance with project scope, design concept, design criteria, standard operating procedures, safety, schedule and budget. Reports on project status report to Clients and/or preparing for management/project review meetings. Directs the preparation of and approves: Project Management reports including Progress Report, Project Control Report and Contract Status Report. Inquiry and Requisition Report, Purchase Order Report, Contract Status Report and Material Report, in coordination with Procurement Department. D&Z Invoice preparation, submittal to Clients, and expediting of Client payments Change Notice Requests, facilitates internal review & approval for review and submittal to Clients, and expediting of Client disposition Develops and maintains professional working relationships with executive management, construction management, engineering, sales and marketing, project controls, finance, contract administration, purchasing, business planning, and other D&Z units. Participates in sales proposal preparation with specific input on scopes of work, deliverables, project execution strategies, milestone schedules, professional services estimates, risk analysis and market strategies. Participates in presentations to prospective clients Responsible for performing work in accordance with the Company's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct and thus functioning as role models; and evaluating subordinates (if applicable), based on their commitment to the Code. Periodic travel to Customer locations including site walk-downs Education BS Degree in Engineering or Construction required (advanced degree a plus) Registered Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Institute's PMP Certification (preferred), or ability to obtain within Two (2) years Experince Minimum 10+ years work experience primarily in the Refining, Fibers or Chemicals industries Minimum Five (5) years work experience in a field engineering or construction coordination role Minimum Two (3) years work experience in secondary industries such as Petro-Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Fibers, or Advanced Manufacturing is desirable Skillset Proven experience on projects sized up to $50MM, with a typical range of $10MM to $30MM Ability to develop strong professional working relationships with Clients, Engineering Departments, Executive Management and other internal teams. Demonstrated ability and experience to lead multi-discipline Design Teams in an Engineering Office environment, along with an expert understanding of project execution methodologies and gated work processes, from Conceptual Engineering through Detailed Design Demonstrated familiarity and overall understanding of the interfaces and work processes to facilitate Procurement, Construction Management and Commissioning/Start-Up Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to motivate a team to succeed Solid understanding of Project Control concepts to manage deliverable expectations, progress measurement and metrics tracking Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages Flexibility on short-term assignments at project jobsites and/or other D&Z offices Diversity, Inclusion & Equal Employment OpportunityDay & Zimmermann is committed to maintaining an inclusive workforce, where employees are hired, retained, compensated and promoted based on their contributions to our Company.
