Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.Job SummaryTo provide a structured use of music or music activities to influence changes in maladaptive conditions of behavior patterns thereby assisting children achieve therapeutic goals.Accountabilities

• Evaluate/assess children and define target goals/objectives.
• Provide direct service to children based on need and maintain (progress) documentation of interactions.
• Perform daily rounds within Children's hospital inpatient units and provide diversional music activities as needed.
• Provide weekly music activity for outpatient Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders.
• Provide a weekly music group activity.Supervisory/Management ResponsibilityThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis on Music; prefer completion of an approved Music Therapy Program from a college/university
  • Minimum 1-year experiences; prefer individual who has experience with childrenRequired Certifications/Registrations/LicensesN/AIn Lieu Of The Above Minimum RequirementsN/AOther Required Skills and ExperienceMust be accomplished in voice and play a musical instrument (piano/guitar); skilled in improving, arranging and conducting; flexible with a wide range of musical activities.Certified Music Therapist (CMT), Registered Music Therapist (RMT) or Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) preferred.Work ShiftVariable (United States of America)LocationSCM-MARSHALL I.
