Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty:
Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night
Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor &
Delivery/Postpartum experience required. License: Valid RN License
required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP required. Must-Have:
Experience with all aspects of Labor & Delivery/Postpartum patient
care. Experience circulating c-sections. Experience with newborn
care including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and
lactation support. Ability to work in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum
support within the department. Description: This is a position for
a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. The
facility has 174 licensed beds. It is a teaching hospital. It is
accredited for stroke care. Travelers must reside 50 miles outside
the home unit. Patient types include Labor & Delivery, Postpartum,
and GYN surgical patients. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines.
One CNA is assigned per shift. Nursing staff is required to provide
full patient care support. Responsibilities include patient
registration, visitor management, and unit secretary duties. Charge
nurses and case managers are available on-site 24/7. OB physicians
and pediatricians are also available around the clock. Lactation
consultants are part of the team. This position requires floating
to other facilities within the region as needed. Orientation
consists of two days in the department. Schedules will rotate every
six weeks with expected weekend rotations every other week.
Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be
approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Scrub color is navy
