Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS before starting BLS before starting PALS before starting TNCC before starting CPI before starting NIHSS before starting ENPC within 90 days of hire Must-Have: 2 years of experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting. Teamwork mentality. Ability to coach and give real-time feedback. Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department. Description: The registered nurse will work in a high-volume emergency department. The unit typically has a patient ratio of 4:1 for medical cases and can be up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. Technicians are available to assist with cardiac monitoring and internal processing. Unit clerks are scheduled for day and night shifts. Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors. Documentation is managed through a computerized system. Scheduling requires every other weekend availability with flexibility to meet departmental needs. Floating within the emergency department sections is expected, but no floating outside of the department. Patient experience standards include AIDET and maintaining respectful behavior. The department values ongoing communication with patients and updating boards with relevant information. Candidates must have experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center with high visit volumes.
