Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights, flexible - Employment Type: Travel Job Description: Travel Med/Surg RN – Nights | Acute Surgical Unit Shift: Nights (3x12s) Contract Length: 13 Weeks Weekly Hours: 36 Position Highlights: - Unit: Surgical/Med-Surg (32 beds) - Floating Required: Will float to sister unit (Ortho/MS) - Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:6 (may go up to 1:8) - Great teamwork, bedside shift reporting, and multidisciplinary rounds Ideal Candidate: - Must have recent Travel RN experience in acute care Med/Surg - Must be comfortable handling up to 8 patients when needed - Experience in medium to large hospitals required (last 3 assignments) - Flexible and willing to float between Med/Surg and Ortho units Unit Profile & Clinical Expectations: - Common Surgical Cases: Robotic Hysterectomy, Prostatectomy, Colon Resection, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Bariatric Surgery, Amputations, and more. - Common Medications: IV antibiotics, pain control meds, anticoagulants (Heparin, Lovenox), anti-nausea meds. - Equipment Used: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA, Pyxis, Mini-Infusers, ceiling lifts, wound vacs. - Required Skills: IV insertion, central/PICC line management, vascular access care About Protouch Staffing Protouch Staffing stands out as a premier healthcare staffing agency in the USA, committed to pairing healthcare workers with positions that perfectly match their qualifications, experiences, and career aspirations.
