travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in
Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements -
Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13
weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment
Type: Travel - VMS ID: 971 HIGHLIGHTS: - Minimum Years of
Experience required: 2 years Med/Tele RN exp (Resource Team) -
First-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider (Resource
Team) - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team
requirement) - Weekend rotation: every other - No call for
travelers - Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of
holidays - Floating within region and scope of practice - Will be
required to float per region needs - will require floating to all
facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice -
DECLINE if not agreeable - Radius rule: Traveler's permanent
address must be 50 miles outside of home unit - RTO: Can approve up
to 6 days off, excluding holidays - must add time to the end of the
contract if unable to meet contracted hours ADDITIONAL DETAILS: -
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6 - Orientation: NEO and 2 days
departmental MORE INFORMATION: - 874 Licensed beds - Level I Trauma
- Teaching Hospital - Chest Pain Center - Stroke Center - Magnet
Designated - Unit Beds: 36 - Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: -
Bladder CA, prostatectomy, kidney stones, renal CA, patient
requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, TURBT - ESLD,
peritoneal dialysis, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure,
AKI/CKD, pre & post operative kidney/liver/pancreas transplant,
acute rejection - Surgical Trauma-Chest tubes, SCI, GSW, MVA,
traumatic falls w/injury - Skills required: General Med/Tele
skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach
care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube
management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals,
foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps - Medication gtt
management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF
- Support within the Department: - CNA - ratios vary -
Receptionist/HUC - Charge nurse, 24/7 - may or may not have
patients - Phlebotomy - peripheral blood draws only - IV/VAT Team -
Resource Nurse - as available - RT, 24/7 - Hospitalist, 24/7 -
Intensivist, 24/7 - Telemetry monitoring/tech: No monitoring tech;
nurses read monitors and respond - Technology/Equipment: - EMR:
EPIC - IV Pump: Alaris - Med dispensing: Omnicell - Monitors:
Phillips - Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central
Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) - If floating mid-shift, Traveler
will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain
