Experience: Minimum 2 years as Rad Tech required License: ARRT
Radiography Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Must-Have: Must exhibit excellent communication skills for
effective interactions with physicians, patients, visitors,
departmental staff, and nursing staff. Ability to explain or give
directions to maintain goodwill and obtain cooperation with all
contacts. Must function independently and under pressure while
actively participating in a team environment. Exhibit excellent
customer service skills at all times. Ability to prioritize
effectively. Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask
throughout the work shift. Ability to interact professionally with
a variety of customers, including patients, families, co-workers,
volunteers, and physicians. Willingness to follow all policies,
established practices, protocols, and procedures. Competent in all
aspects of Diagnostic Radiology, patient positioning, exposure
factors, and radiation protection. Understanding of anatomy and
pathology as they affect the quality of procedures. Description:
Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be
dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing
safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams
according to department procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and
ability to safely obtain quality diagnostic studies. Responsible
for performing various technical procedures requiring independent
judgment and ingenuity. Sets up equipment for imaging services and
positions patients for procedures. Acts as a clinical coordinator
for imaging students. Fills out student rotation evaluations
honestly and ethically. Provides constructive criticism to students
during their rotation. Observes patient condition and evaluates
situations for necessary physician intervention. Verifies patient
identifiers and correct clinical orders prior to performing
procedures per policy. Ensures patient privacy and comfort are
accommodated. Demonstrates competence in determining and applying
appropriate procedures and techniques based on the age of patients.
Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities
within designated time frames. Follows physician instructions when
assisting with procedures and exams. Uses critical thinking skills
and asks clarifying questions. Understands and documents
pre-procedural verification and Time Out process when appropriate.
Maintains competency with venipuncture where applicable.
Demonstrates ability to adjust techniques to minimize patient
radiation exposure while maintaining image quality. Reports
equipment malfunctions to ensure timely corrections. Cleans,
disinfects, and maintains equipment in accordance with infection
control policies. Explains the purpose and nature of exams to
patients to facilitate cooperation. Ensures patient’s questions and
concerns are satisfactorily addressed. Participates in the
orientation and training of departmental employees. Completes all
required documentation accurately and concisely. Participates in
quality control measures to produce high-quality images. Checks
equipment for proper calibration and operation prior to use.
Ensures all studies are properly sent to the appropriate systems
and labeled accurately. Restocks supplies and maintains a clean
working environment. Transports and positions patients as necessary
during procedures. Maintains productivity rates consistent with
co-workers. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards.
Willingly offers assistance and shares knowledge with colleagues as
needed. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all
