1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor &
Delivery position on a night shift schedule, requiring charge
experience and at least 2 years of L&D experience. Details -
Works in a Women's Services LDRP unit with 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed,
4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite - Patient ratios: 1:1 for active
labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1
until stable; NICU intermediate care 1:3 (minimum 2 NICU nurses
required in unit at all times) - No unit secretaries or techs
available on the unit - Equipment includes CPN Central monitoring,
IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist,
bili-blankets, and PCA pumps - Documentation system: Meditech and
CPN - Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week - Rotating
weekends and holidays required - Travelers may be required to float
within the facility if not needed on the unit Requirements - Active
NC or compact RN license required - Required certifications: BLS
(AHA or ARC), NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of
Pediatrics), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
certification (or NCCEFM) - Certifications must not expire within
the first 30 days of the assignment start - Minimum 2 years of
recent L&D experience required - Charge nurse experience
required - Experience with labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn
transition and assessment required - Experience with OB emergencies
such as shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage preferred -
Experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil) and fetal monitoring
required - Proficiency with C-sections, circumcisions,
intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum- or forceps-assisted
deliveries required - US SSN and date of birth required for
consideration - One professional reference required (two required
for candidates from Florida or Missouri) Additional Information -
Responsibilities include laboring and recovering mothers, receiving
and transitioning newborns, and performing daily and safety
rounding on all patients - The facility is a Joint
Commission-accredited, Level II Trauma and Level II NICU center
with a designated Stroke Center - The unit is staffed by a highly
experienced team, including several RNs with approximately 30 years
of experience who serve as resources and preceptors - This LDRP
setting offers broad experience across labor, delivery, postpartum,
and neonatal care - Pink and/or brown scrubs are required per
infant security policy - Candidates must reside more than 50 miles
from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates will be
considered - No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the
