Nurse Practitioner | Emergency Medicine Location: Augusta, GA Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position • Profession: NP/PA • Specialty: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Facility Location: Augusta, Georgia • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Period: 6-month contract; option to renew for 1 year • Coverage Type: Clinical • Clinical Schedule: 24/7 ED operation; shifts include day, evening, and night Shifts: 9am-7pm, 4pm-2am ? • Call Schedule: No on-call • Admissions: Yes • % of Practice: 95% Direct Patient Care, 5% Administrative Duties • Support Staff: RNs, LPNs, Health Technicians, Medical Support Staff Clerks • Procedures: - Central venous line placement, - Arterial catheter placement - Emergency chest tube or needle thoracostomy to relieve tension pneumothorax - Peritoneal lavage - Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion - Endotracheal intubation - Lumbar puncture - Proctoscopy/anoscopy - Pericardiocentesis - Simple closed fracture and dislocation reduction - Arthrocentesis - Local/regional anesthesia - Moderate and/or deep procedural sedation - Pericardiocentesis - Temporary pacemaker placement - Chest tube thoracostomy and cricothyroidotomy • Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center • EMR: CPRS • Hospital Privileges required: Yes • Temporary Privileges available: Yes • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered Requirements: • Graduation from an accredited PA program • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization aligned to emergency care • Active unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States • Minimum 5 years of recent emergency department experience or certification in emergency medicine (e.g. NCCPA, AAENP) • BLS (AHA) • ACLS (AHA) • DEA Certificate • NPI Please note: Providers who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
