Job Description:

VisitGreenvilleSC is searching for a Full-Time (40 hrs/week) OR Part-time (16-28 hrs/week) Visitor Services Lead Concierge. The postion is located at our Visitor Center, City Hall Lobby, 206 S. Main Street, Greenville, SC. Summary: - - - - - - - - - The position is responsible for serving the public by providing a warm and friendly customer service environment at the Greenville visitor center, think "service with a smile" -. - -The primary function is to greet and assist visitors with information and reservations about local accommodations, restaurants, attractions, museums, events and transportation. - Responsibilities: Knowledgeable and passionate about Greenville and the Upcountry region. Meet and greet visitors and provide visitor assistance in a friendly and positive manner. Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to all inquiries. Monitor and respond to visitor inquiries received via email. Distribute information to visitors including maps, brochures and general information to serve their needs. - Assist visitors in confirming reservations as needed for accommodations, restaurants, attractions and/or events. Suggest ideas to walk-in/phone inquiries that will improve their local experience and encourage extended stays. - - - - Help visitor center with tasks such as refilling brochures and supplies, light cleaning, organizing, etc. Maintain accurate counts of visitors, email, and phone inquiries. Computer data entry and project work when not assisting visitors. Monitor visitors and notify Visitor Relations Manager of any visitor problems, needs, questions or concerns. Other Responsibilities May Include: Assist in the development and management of a volunteer base for in-market events. Handle financial transactions and proficiency with POS system. Research opportunities for growth and improvement as an organization. Present new ideas and support the implementation of projects. - Explore less known attractions and resources in Greenville and the Upcountry and identify ways that we can better serve this information to visitors. Duties: Ensure operations at Visitor Center are running smoothly and in accordance with the basic policies and procedures being implemented. Create schedule for VC coverage, with schedules being published 30 days in advance. Handle fulfillment of visitor guides for Presort and Canadian website requests Members Visitor Center walk-ins Bulk order sales Convention Services needs Signature Experiences Nurture strong relationships with SE members Assist with switch over to new booking system Promote and grow the SE program Create FAQs, Fact and Information Sheets, and other resources for the Visitor Center to help cultivate memorable experiences. Membership Prospecting Become the "face" - of membership out talking with members and prospects about what we can do for them. Establish a goal of how many prospect and how many current members to see each month. Be knowledgeable about benefits, costs and opportunities Extranet knowledge, basics of how they will use it to maximize their membership. Handle non-member event submissions and approve member event submissions Merchandise fulfillment for CS, Members, and Walk in Customers Inventory/Storage unit/Delivery Back up Convention Services, Understand the basics and work with CS to fulfill needs. Collaborate with Visitor Relations Manager on new ideas, how to create new experiences and information for visitors. Working to help create semi-annual outings for whole staff to learn our products. Manage content for Member Spotlight, New & Noteworthy, and Insider's Tip on the website Report data and statistics related to the Visitor Center and Signature Experiences Qualifications: Possess strong verbal communication skills and professional presentation. Must be able to work independently. Responsible, outgoing and willingness to take initiative, comfortable initiating conversations with visitors. Show a friendly, positive manner and enjoy contact with individuals. Demonstrate a willingness to keep current with local updates and happenings. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook a must. -Visitor Center technology includes Windows based PC, iPad and Kiosk application for information and reservations. Possess analytical abilities and independent decision making skills Experience working in or volunteering in a service setting or speaking a second language a plus. Should be comfortable lifting boxes of up to 20 lbs. and moving them with a handcart. PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME POSITION.
