Job DescriptionThe Hartness hospitality collection in Greenville, SC is actively searching for a passionate, organized, and self-motivated Director of Catering to join our team of hospitality professionals. This role will oversee and manage the on site events for the highly anticipated Hotel Hartness, it's full service restaurant and bar Patterson, and Village Kitchen catering. About Hartness:Hartness Living, the Greenville area's most exciting and architecturally stunning traditional neighborhood development, will be home to a new hospitality collection managed by Hay Creek Hotels.The Hartness community offers a full-service elevated café, Village Kitchen, which opened Spring of 2021. With something for everyone, from a latte and avocado toast to go, to a lady's lunch turned happy hour, Village Kitchen offers a southern, wood-fired inspired menu with the convenience of casual dine in or take-out three meal periods a day.Hotel Hartness will open Fall of 2022 with 73 luxury suites, meeting and event space, and world-class luxury spa. Guest rooms will be well appointed with a fresh and modern motif, offering several different suite configurations designed to appeal to a wide variety of audiences. The hotel will also include two levels of indoor and outdoor meeting and conference space options, featuring large ballroom that can host up to 300 guests. The hotel will also feature a luxurious spa designed and managed by WTS International. With six treatment rooms and a comprehensive menu of unique and creative treatments, the spa will truly be something never offered before in the Greenville area.Just a short walk from the main hotel will be the hotel's restaurant, Patterson, opening Fall 2022. With a wrap-around porch and floor to ceiling windows, diners will enjoy waterside dining next to the tranquil and serene pond setting. The heart of the restaurant will be an exposition kitchen that will prepare a variety of locally and regionally inspired menu items. Job Summary:

  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales & catering department through effective oral and written communication while adhering to rate, date and space commitments for social group room sales within the hotel.
  • Solicit social hotel room, party/banquet/event catering business. Calls on past and prospective customers to solicit bookings.
  • Conducts offsite and onsite sales visits according to HCH operating standards.
  • Prepares arrangements with customers for group functions, that are booked in person, via telephone or by correspondence. Obtains all pertinent information concerning the event, such as size of party, menu and schedule of event, AV needs, etc.
  • Develops detailed Banquet Event Orders according to client requests. Assist operations managers in successfully executing BEO details.
  • ·Direct and manage all social group, and catering/banquet sales and activities to maximize revenue for the hotel.
  • Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports including annual and monthly forecast, social booking pace report, etc.
  • Attend and represent the hotel at selected wedding trade shows or necessary community events.
  • ·Coordinate ongoing research of the wedding and social industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies.
  • ·Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Prepares in collaboration with DOSM sales and marketing plan and execute plans as outlined.
  • Maintain tracking system through sales system to ensure all client information and potential bookings and prospecting calls is documented.
  • Adheres to social group rates, room blocks, and catering deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
  • Communicate and coordinate with front office manager, group bookings, room blocks, rooming lists and billing procedures.
  • Attend weekly BEO Meetings and other scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with the creation, development and implementation of activities and programs.
  • Maintain a vibrant website with seasonally appropriate key words, pictures, links, PPC campaigns and digital marketing. Analyze results on monthly basis including but not limited to Google Analytics and third party vendor. Monitor SEO process.
  • ·Develop and maintain CRM campaigns with monthly email blasts and customer feedback mechanisms.
  • Develops plans and prices social, wedding menus, in conjunction with the Chef/ Food and Beverage Director to be approved by the General Manager. Works closely with Executive Chef regarding specialty menu requests and package pricing.
  • Develops aggressive long and short range sales objectives and promotional programs based on past sales projections and accomplishments.
  • Prepares statistical forecasts for catering sales food/beverage costs, hotel room occupancy, and event scheduling for approval by the General Manager.
  • Organizes group parties/events as required. In this capacity, incumbent will coordinate and direct the execution of party floor functions to ensure customer specification/expectations are adhered to and that the function runs smoothly and efficiently based on knowledge of quality food production and service requirements.

      • Strong leadership and effective written & verbal communication skills.
