Job Description:
The Corporate Attorney will be responsible for providing general
commercial and transactional advice as well as general legal
counsel to JTEKT North America's businesses in North America.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities: --- Draft, review, revise
and consult with businesses groups on a wide variety of commercial
agreements including sales, purchasing and innovation matters. ---
Assist with developing and maintaining internal contracting process
--- Assist in managing litigation matters through coordination with
outside counsel --- Collaborate with and provide basic legal
guidance to all areas of the organization, including Sales, Bearing
Business Unit, Automotive Systems Business Unit, Purchasing,
Finance, Manufacturing, H.R., and Engineering. --- Review, revise
and consult with business groups concerning contract matters with
other affiliated entities in the JTEKT group of companies. ---
Review and revise real estate documents (deeds and leases) ---
Assist with the design of and provide training concerning legal
matters across the organization --- Research legal issues on an
as-needed basis --- Establish effective relationships at all levels
of the organization, from hourly employees to the executive team
Assist with management of corporate governance issues including
board of director activities . --- Other duties as assigned by the
General Counsel Supervisory Responsibilities: --- This position has

Education and Experience: --- J. D. from an ABA accredited law
school --- Bar admission in the U.S. --- 4 plus years' experience
in a law firm or in-house law department --- Experience working
with employees with diverse backgrounds Experience with
manufacturing organizations especially in automotive industry not
required but preferred. Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work
environment characteristics described here are representative of

with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with
substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient
hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and

occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require
the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses
with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. --- Travel by
automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
