See Terracon's Safety Response to Covid-19 belowJob Description General Responsibilities: As a mid-level Environmental Professional with Terracon you will perform duties related to conducting Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, brownfield redevelopment projects, and regulatory compliance services. You will be responsible for managing projects such that our services are responsive to the client's needs, including being on time with project deliverables and within the identified scope of work and budget. You will also be responsible for preparing proposals and reports, for client development, and for promoting other services and projects whenever possible. Essential Functions and Duties: Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the scientific work in a part of a major project or in a total project of small to moderate scope. May serve as team leader in medium projects and help coach and mentor junior level staff. Assists in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluation, plan and permit projects. Responsible for developing written proposals to client for both small and large projects, including quality control review of proposals written by others. May attend on and offsite client meetings. May provide technical guidance and/or oversee work performed by lower level staff. Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test, and collect data and/or document on-site activities at various client sites. Evaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports. Uses technical software and equipment to prepare documents. May work in the office or in the field. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Performs other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned by more senior level professional staff or the Department Manager. Assists in compiling the scope of work for both routine and more complex field investigations on environmental projects. Will perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills/Abilities: Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Overnight travel may be required with this position. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related science with 8-12 years of consulting experience or equivalent License/Registration: Valid driver's license Licensure as a professional engineer or geologist in South Carolina or North Carolina (or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months) Terracon's Safety Response to COVID-19 Committed to Our Employee Safety!
