RISE Residential is currently looking for anenergetic, service-mindedResidentAssistant to join this wonderful team. If you have the desire, and can-do attitude to provide top notch service to our residents, in an environment that challenges and supports you to do your best work, this opportunity could be for you.The Resident Assistant (RA) is a part time position for student housing communities. A commitment of approximately 20 hours per week is required. RAs work to support the academic success and personal growth of the students living in the student housing community. RAs are expected to work cooperatively with university staff as well as the staff of the housing community. RAs are expected to serve as academic and social role models while serving as liaisons between the students and the University.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)Discuss and clarifies University and community rules, regulations, policies and procedures with the residents.Serve as a role model for the residents. Encourage the residents to participate in educational and recreational programs offered by the community.Hold floor and hall meetings as needed.Advises residents both individually and in groups concerning academic, social, and personal issues with recommendations submitted to Student Affairs/Student Living.Provides group and individual counseling to the best of their ability and is aware of campus resources for information and able to refer students to appropriate services.Confronts unacceptable behavior and works with residents to change their behavior when appropriate. In accordance with Company policy; will refer the resident to the General Manager for additional counseling and evaluation.Is familiar with and follow all institutional and departmental guidelines regarding emergencies.Coordinate efforts with appropriate university departments, such as Campus Police Department, and community agencies. Whenever possible, seek to ensure an environment safe for residents and staff.Develop and implement programs and activities that serve the needs of the residents. Evaluate all programing efforts and assess for improvement.Answer questions about the apartment community; provide callers with directions to the community and other pertinent information. Retrieves messages form voicemail and distributes to the appropriate team member.Maintain working knowledge of leasing application information, screening process, lease terms, rental rates, unit sizes, locations, amenities of the community and community policiesMaintains knowledge of the housing community and amenities and how it compares with listings of other available rental properties in the area.Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors and fellow employees. Transmit, through both example and statement, an impartial attitude toward all individuals, regardless of race, gender, culture, or life-style.Report maintenance concerns in accordance with Company policy and procedure.Complete the Training Guide, Learning Management System online training and instructor led training courses required for this position.Assure safety standards are used which comply with all Company guidelines.Complete time worked records in a timely manner.Ensure compliance of all work related activities in fair, ethical and consistent manner.Follow established Company policies and procedures.Arrive to work as scheduled and prepared.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s):Accuracy-Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughlyCommunication-Oral Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or clients.Communication, Written-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Problem Solving-Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Technical Aptitude-Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Working Under Pressure-Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must demonstrate literacy in the English language including reading. Must be enrolled at the University and have the required higher grade point average (GPA) set forth by the University in the prior semester before hire date. Cumulative GPA must remain at the set level or higher for the duration of employment.Experience: N/AComputer Skills: Working knowledge of; Microsoft Office Suite, InternetCertificates & Licenses: N/AOther Requirements: Authorized to work in the United States
