The company is committed to building a world-class operation, combining industry-leading talent with a modernized, analytically driven technology platform.What does it mean to be a Data Architect with GLS?The Data Architect is responsible for leading ETL and BI development teams to build business-focused information systems that are stable, scalable, and fast. This role will be responsible for architecture, technology solutions, and services to build and maintain robust and highly available data hub that will include Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts. The role will also own data sharing processes and enterprise reporting functions.How will you drive value within the organization?Provide the vision, strategy, and operational framework to deliver data integration and reporting solutions that meet the business requirements of the organization.Develop and maintain comprehensive data pipeline program for data integration and work with key business stakeholders to provide frequent insight to help them make data-backed decisions.Help build and design efficient reporting and self-service framework.Lead a team of engineers to deliver high quality and reliable data using continuous improvement principles throughout the delivery and operational support models.Manage large, complex projects including program oversight and execution (Governance, Project Plans, Stakeholder/Communication Plans, Requirements, Testing, Design, Issue/Risk identification, and resolution, project resourcing, project budget, etc.).Contribute to IT Architecture Review Board meetings, protecting the interests of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence usersSpend 60-80% of the week developing, testing, and implementing integration/reporting processes.Ensure all interfaces, Extract/Transform/Load/Reporting processes align to GLS's Enterprise Architecture and Security standards.Assist in identifying, driving, and enforcing best practices for change control, testing, information security, and data governance, making use of DevOps principles and the latest in cloud technologyCoach and mentor the team to maintain current technology skills and assist with career development objectives.Foster an environment of empowering team members by encouraging Collaboration, Clear Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking.Move Team Members to Action - Translates the vision into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivate team members to take actions that support the vision.Delegation, organization, and priority management i.e. Scrum Master for the team.Establish clear expectations with the business and effectively communicates when situations change.What should you already know to be successful in this role? Minimum of a bachelor's degree required.Minimum of 7 years' experience with high proficiency in ETL, BI, Data Architecture, and Business Analytics required2+ years of experience in building data lake solutions.Experience building solutions using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka or similar technology is preferred.Experience with modern data encryption standards and secure data exchange processes preferred.Knowledge of Data Governance and Master Data Management is a plus.Advanced knowledge of physical database design and data structures.Advanced skill level in SQL, data modeling, data architecture, data profiling, performance tuning and ETL schedulers.Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional databases between disparate business units and systems.Knowledge of SDLC and quality control processes to be followed in various projects.Excellent project management skills to include the development of project timelines, tasks, assigned resources, dependency management and risk management.Exemplary critical thinking and problem solving to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and lead a team to decisions.Ability to quickly get to know products, processes and business needs to enough level to drive projects, improvements and product enhancements.Ability to work quickly and with attention to detail, juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a varied, fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills to effectively explain complex technical concepts to a widely varied audience including staff, management and other internal and external stakeholders.Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies.Employment Requirements:Must be able to pass a criminal background checkThis is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times.
