Job Description Customer Service Insurance Advocate Start Date: June 7, 2021 Job Location : 2006 Wade Hampton Blvd. Greenville, SC 29615 Training : 4 weeks paid training Training Hrs. Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm Work Hrs. Monday-Friday 8:00am-7:00pm Starting Pay: $12.50 hr. *Must be available to work an 8-hour shift during the hours of operation Additional WAH Information: This is a full-time position that will be Work-At-Home on a temporary basis in response to COVID-19. Once we return to business as usual, you will be required to work onsite. If you experience technical difficulties, system issues or any other issue that impacts your ability to work from home, you will be required to work onsite until the issue is resolved. Job Detail : This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries, including reimbursement processing, order placement, shipping status, warranty and general concerns. Will be required to make outbound calls. Assist with benefits investigation and answers a variety of reimbursement related questions. Strong communication between physicians, healthcare and insurance providers are critical functions of this position. Duties and responsibilities: -- Process all aspects of the order process by verifying insurance benefits and coverage to determine eligibility and calculate cost share amounts for existing and new customers -- Request and collect updated documentation, prior authorizations, order entry and coordinate shipments of product to customers -- Must maintain a thorough understanding of the products being offered by the client -- Understand the client's channeling and processing requirements for all covered products which is based on medical policy and payer guidelines -- Work as part of the larger support team, collaborating with other departments to ensure proactive, superior front-line customer support -- Document all interactions and calls into the customer database and maintain compliance to HIPAA and other regulating bodies as required -- Provide frequent feedback and suggestions to support an environment of continuous process improvement -- Serve as a department liaison to client insurance contracts -- Process all aspects of reimbursement by contacting payors, verifying insurance benefits and adhering to medical guidelines for reimbursement -- Submission of all prior authorization requests for approval and payment of the client's products at time of claim processing -- Calculate and document cost share amounts for potential customers -- Use knowledge that was learned in training to complete a wide range of task within the reimbursement team -- Perform all other duties as assigned Requirements: -- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required -- 6 months of customer service experience in a back-office processing environment required -- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required -- Active listening skills required -- Basic understanding of medical terminology preferred -- Health insurance claims experience preferred -- Experience communicating directly with Insurance Carriers regarding benefits and prior authorizations preferred -- Must be able to navigate multiple computer programs and use multiple screens -- Must be able to type a minimum of 25 WPM **This position requires you to take a CASI Assessment and a typing test. Candidates will be evaluated and contacted by a member of the Talent Acquisition Team. This assessment does not allow for re-take attempts.
