This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

  • All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Resource for Nursing team supporting the Optum nurse with coordination and scheduling of patient visits in home care setting, alternate care setting, AIS where applicable
  • Assures timely consistent communication with company personnel, and outside providers, especially patient, caregivers, and other agencies
  • Resource and assist with training nurses on Click scheduling and other application.
  • Tracking and faxing of nursing orders POT/485's, other physician orders for timely return with appropriate signatures
  • Assist with, triage of patient phone calls for nursing
  • Assist with the management of Click scheduling, timesheets, activity, and assist with staffing patient visits with Optum nursing and home health agency visits sending all required documentation for patient management
  • Reviewing nurse visit notes for accurate consistent information to confirm notes in the CVL to allow timely billing of nursing visits
  • Verify appropriate nursing visit authorization is obtained
  • Follow-up on patient hospitalizations and/or events reported, complete event reports
  • Generate reports on patient data through CPR+, Carelink 2.0, Nursing Dashboards and Click
  • Attend/Assist in branch/nurse meetings
  • Assist with ordering and restocking nursing supplies as needed
  • Verification of demographics with patients
  • Completion of required LearnSources as assigned
  • Common review-self evaluations
  • Entering of daily time in GSS system

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems
  • Microsoft Word (creating and editing Word documents)
  • Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar)
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Ability to work the business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm EST, Monday - Friday including the flexibility to be on call as needed
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within the State of South Carolina
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Home Infusion or Home Health scheduling experience
  • Experience working with Healthcare Insurance
  • Experience working in a call center environment
  • Experience working in a Hospital, Physician's Office, or Medical Clinical setting
  • Experience working in the Healthcare Industry
