Job Description:

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Research accounts with outstanding aging balances, contacting facilities and patients by phone as needed.Document all collections activity and follow up as appropriate.Respond to verbal and written client or responsible party inquiries and returned correspondence.Resolve claim and account discrepancies and prepare necessary adjustment and refund requests for approval.Issue demand letters and/or suspension of services letters to facilities or patients who remain non-compliant with payment terms.Assist in the development, modification, and application of company policy on collections and outstanding balances.Participate in regular meetings with operations/clinical team and cash application team, providing collections support as requested.Address problems promptly and notify supervisor of potential issues which may lead to untimely collections.Complies with the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act (FDCPA).Perform all other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.SKILLS-EXPERIENCE:Associate's DegreeExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficient with computers2+ years billing or medical claims processing experience preferred2+ years of collections experience in the medical industry (Long-Term Care a plus)Experience working with remote/virtual teams a plusAbility to multi-task prioritiesDemonstrate excellent customer service skills with all internal/external customers/clientsMust have excellent attention to detail Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
