Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Geologist, to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This position entails travel to job sites and working outside of the office setting conducting site and subsurface characterization for environmental and geotechnical projects and/or monitoring contractor's environmental and geotechnical-related activities during construction as well as some associated office-related work. This full-time position will be in our Greenville, SC office.

The successful candidate will:

* Conduct environmental investigations including subsurface exploration activities (e.g., monitoring well installation, boring advancement, and test pits) to collect soil, bedrock, groundwater, and other pertinent information for project design. Should be familiar with subsurface utility location and clearance procedures.
* Conduct sampling of soil, surface water, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air in accordance with the NJDEP FSPM, company standard procedures, and other industry standard guidelines.
* Use and calibrate various environmental and geotechnical instrumentation and equipment during field work (i.e., PID, YSI, etc.).
* Document project-related activities.
* Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
* Assist in studies that evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of remedial approaches to site cleanup.
* Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized project opportunities.
* Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface explorations, and identify important site features.
* Conduct on-site monitoring/ engineering observation of contractor environmental and geotechnical related construction activities.
* Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site. As applicable, participate in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley & Aldrich.


* B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or other related discipline. M.S. degree welcomed.
* 2-5 years of professional services consulting experience that includes completion of groundwater and surface water sampling events, installation of monitoring wells and advancement of soil borings using a variety of drilling methods, collection of soil and bedrock samples, subsurface utility identification and location experience, and vapor intrusion point installation and sampling.
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations
* Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in in MS Office software, Adobe or Bluebeam and other industry standard software
* Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail is expected
* Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
* Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites and the office
* OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training a plus.
* Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter
* Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
