Job Description:

We are seeking a Heat Treat Operator to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for working independently to heat treat metals to meet customer specifications. You will process metal in a furnace to harden the metals and prepare them for the next stages of the process. A successful candidate will demonstrate an attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am working 2 days on, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place on day shift from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Additional Responsibilities

• 
  
• Retrieve orders using IME and overhead crane
  
• Read and interpret MIs and other written or verbal instructions
  
• Prepare orders by spraying metals with a dye developer as required
  
• Preheat furnace to specified temperatures
  
• Load up to two furnaces with material and monitor the material and temperature during processing
  
• Remove treated material from furnace and use specified cooling method (air, water, fan, etc.) to complete the order
  
• Cut heat treated samples using an abrasive saw
  
• Stage finished material in designated area once the cooling process is completed to be processed in the next operation
  
• Keep up with accurate logs and records
  
• Follow and implement all prescribed safety rules and regulations
