Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Support surgical teams with expert precision and care as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a contract role based in Augusta, GA. In this capacity, you will work under the guidance of registered nurses to assist in complex surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and seamless operation flow. Your role will be critical in preparing operating rooms, managing surgical instruments, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and healthcare staff during moderate to high acuity cases. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments and equipment according to preference cards Assist in room setup, gowning, and gloving of surgeons and assistants Pass instruments and supplies during procedures, maintaining an organized operative field Participate actively in surgical safety protocols including procedure time-outs and counts Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure compliance with safety and Joint Commission standards Mentor and train new staff and students, supporting performance improvement initiatives Respond effectively to emergencies and adjust plans proactively to support surgical success Qualifications & Experience: High School diploma or GED with accredited Surgical Technology program completion Current CST certification or equivalent (TS-C, CSFA, CSA) BLS certification required upon hire National certification mandatory Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel Experience in moderate to high acuity surgical cases preferred Schedule & Location: Monday through Friday, 10-hour shifts from 10:45 AM to 9:15 PM Augusta, GA a city known for its rich history and vibrant cultural scene, offering a welcoming community and a variety of recreational activities, from golfing to exploring the scenic Savannah River.
